description:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Overall Job Purpose:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Procurement Specialist\u2019s primary responsibility is to ensure the business has the supplies and inventory it needs to function according to schedule, provide support to Processing, Engineering and other support Departments in accordance with site policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>The Procurement Specialist is expected to regularly communicate with suppliers, logistics section, receiving section, freight forwarders and transporters and other stakeholders to ensure goods arrive in required timeframe.<\/li>\n<li>Procurement\u00a0 Specialist \u00a0shall work as a member of the Commercial team and will be expected to build and maintain professional working relationships with internal\u00a0 (warehouse, accounts, logistics, onsite customers) and external (suppliers, freight forwarders, buying houses) to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Specific Job Responsibilities: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Construct update and present expediting reports for routine and project\/event goods procurement for internal stakeholders, particularly for shut down, breakdown, critical components and projects<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the expeditors and ensure adherence to the stipulated procedure of expediting<\/li>\n<li>Plan and execute expediting activities by phone, in person and by email with suppliers for allocated region\/s, suppliers or categories<\/li>\n<li>Expedite orders based on dispatch dates to ensure On Time \u2013 In Full \u2013 Invoiced Correctly (OTIFIC) principle is adhered to<\/li>\n<li>Respond to emergency requirements and plan agile supply chain models to meet Customer requirements appropriately<\/li>\n<li>Ensure documentation is filed as hard copy or electronically.<\/li>\n<li>Timely escalation and \u00a0resolution of receiving\/accounts\/supplier queries on Purchase Orders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Job Specific Competencies:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep track of incoming and outgoing orders, handle issues such as order status, cancellation or changes and ensure that goods arrive on schedule<\/li>\n<li>Operational link between suppliers, logistics and receiving teams.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure required levels of materials are available as required onsite in accordance with warehouse reorder parameters, and project plans.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure Suppliers are held to account to supply \u2018on time\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain end-user confidence in procurement function capability.<\/li>\n<li>Prompt customer service and timely feedback on queries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Key Job Attributes<\/b>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Ability to skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interact with people of different cultures<\/li>\n<li>Accurate and precise attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Unquestionable integrity<\/li>\n<li>Work independently and as part of a team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience required to perform in this job<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The <b>Procurement Specialist <\/b>will require knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communication with local and international suppliers and freight forwarders<\/li>\n<li>Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Pronto<\/li>\n<li>Strong skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of warehousing and inventory management<\/li>\n<li>A basic understanding of commercial law, tax, economics, logistics and remote mine site supply chain management<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge in basic health and safety<\/li>\n<li>At least 2 years\u2019 experience\u00a0 in the same or similar position (preferably in the mining industry)(desirable).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Procurement and Supply or Equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Fully paid-up Member of (Zambia Institute of Purchasing and
